ISSUE XVII: THE OBSESSION ISSUE

A Train

Photography by Judith Henry

a train

In 1977 artist Judith Henry took these photographs of people unsuspectingly while they commuted on the west side A-train. The candid portraits represent a piece of New York’s history when the subways were still covered in graffiti, but aside from that it wouldn’t be too different from the subways, styles and people you find today.
