It was a sad day for metal heads and music fans on Sunday. Ronnie James Dio passed away from stomach cancer, but he will live on in his music. That’s what I tried to tell one long-haired fan late on Sunday as he wept into his whiskey and informed me that “Holy Diver” is about dolphins and sang along to a blasting iPhone, “Shiny diamonds/Like the eyes of a cat in the black and blue/Something is coming for you.” Brilliant. Today my heart is broken, Ronnie passed away at 7:45am 16th May. Many, many friends and family were able to say their private good-byes before he peacefully passed away. Ronnie knew how much he was loved by all. We so appreciate the love and support that you have all given us. Please give us a few days of privacy to deal with this terrible loss.
